We hope you will find some answers to the most commonly asked questions regarding our bands.


When and where do you rehearse?

Currently we rehearse at Faith Bible Church, 17230 N. 59th Ave. in Glendale.  We meet in room 111 and the church staff can assist you in finding that room. Our usual rehearsal times are: Jazz Band – Tuesdays from 12:00-2:00pm and Concert Band – Thursdays 12:00-2:00pm.


What is the concert schedule?

A schedule of rehearsals, concerts and any other activities is available at the beginning of each semester (spring and fall).  The fall semester is approximately October to mid-January, and the Spring semester is mid-January to May.  There is no rehearsal on Thanksgiving, a two-week break at Christmas, and we occasionally have a one-week Spring Break.  All of these dates are on the schedule which can be found here.


Does it cost anything to be a part of the band?

Yes. Tuition for the concert band and jazz band is $85 per semester, per band.  There is a $15 discount if you choose to participate in both bands ($155.00 for both bands). Checks should be made payable to DFNHB and given to our treasurer, Gary Ellefsen.  For those of you who will be here only a short time, you can pay $7.00 for each rehearsal you attend.


What is the concert attire?

Attire for the concert band is a white shirt, and black pants (or skirt).  The jazz band wears a black shirt and black pants (skirt).


Is there an audition required?

No. And we accept players at all skill levels.  While most of the participants have played in the past, “newbies” are welcomed!
